GCDF founders, Janusz Tchorzewski and Tadeusz Uchmanowicz have both been active in Central and Eastern European financial services markets for over 16 years.
The GCDF team is comprised of senior professionals with a proven track record in managing successful financial services companies across Central and Eastern Europe. The team possesses over 70 years of combined operational and financial expertise in the fields of consumer finance, debt collection, credit management and business services.
Janusz Tchórzewski, CEO
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Janusz has worked in the financial services industry for over 17 years and has considerable experience in working with private equity funds: Enterprise Investors in Lukas, and with AIG and Advent International in ULTIMO.
Janusz started his career with Lukas, the leading consumer finance company in Poland, where he spent over 12 years and was appointed Chief Executive Officer. He was responsible for the development of consumer finance products, the distribution network, and the integration of new acquisitions into the group. Lukas was sold in 2001 to Credit Agricole.
In 2002, Janusz founded ULTIMO, which soon became a leader in receivables management and debt collection in Poland. In 2006, Advent International acquired a majority stake in the company and Janusz remains a shareholder and a board member of ULTIMO.
Tadeusz Uchmanowicz
Founder and Managing Director
Tadeusz is an Executive Director specialising in IT and back office, work systems.
Tadeusz was a Director in Lukas for since its creation and was responsible for development and implementation of computer technologies and process management in the Group.
In 2002 together with Janusz, he founded ULTIMO, where he supervised the implementations of systems and technologies supporting the fast development of the company.
Marcin Tokarek
Executive Director (risk management)
Marcin has over 14 years of experience in the fields of statistical analysis, risk management and credit management processes. Prior to joining GCDF, Marcin was a Vice President at ULTIMO, responsible for risk management, product development, analysis and pricing of non-performing assets portfolios. Before ULTIMO, Marcin was a statistical analysis and risk control Team Leader for Cetelem Polska (a BNP Paribas company). Before that, he was responsible for the creation of the credit management systems for Lukas Bank and BIG Bank Gdański. He graduated from the Wrocław University of Technology.
Małgorzata Urbańska
Chief Financial Officer
Prior to 2009, for 3 years, financial analyst responsible for reporting, MIS, and financial analysis of existing and potential investments. Started her career in ULTIMO, where, till 2006, she was a specialist and product manager responsible for development and implementation of new, innovative financial products. She graduated from Wroclaw University of Economics.
Jakub Urbański
Executive Director (project management)
Jakub started his career at ULTIMO in 2006, as a Customer Service Department manager responsible for customer service, purchasing debt portfolios, development of the sales department and liaising with financial institutions. He graduated from the Wrocław University of Technology.
Szymon Olko
Executive Director (Information Technologies)
Responsible for development and supervision of the IT infrastructure. He specialises in financial and debt collection systems. Szymon spent 2 years as IT and risk department director in 123Kredyt in Ukraine. He started his career in 2003 in the ULTIMO’s IT department. He graduated from Wrocław University of Technology.
